However, the Ring's corruption didn't stop there, and it wasn't long after that Sméagol's family banished him, forcing him into the depths of the Misty Mountains, where his body twisted and his mind split into opposing "good" and "bad" personalities. Consumed by the Ring's darkness, Sméagol murdered his cousin, taking the piece of jewelry for himself. His cousin, Déagol, discovered Sauron's long-lost Ring in the Anduin River. However, his story really began on an innocent fishing trip gone wrong. ![]() Once upon a time, Gollum was a Stoor Hobbit named Sméagol. ![]()
